Hi, I’m a foodie, and so are my wife and young son - we all truly live up to the name. For the past couple of years, we've been hearing about an Indian restaurant in the UK called ‘Adda Hut,’ known for serving authentic Kolkata-style Bengali cuisine. Yesterday, my family and I finally had the chance to try their food, and I have to say, we were quite satisfied.
We would like to start with Kolkata-style mutton biryani. The rice was light, flavorful, and moist, just as it should be. The biryani came with two pieces of mutton, one large potato, and an egg. The potato was well-cooked and flavorful, and the mutton was tender and tasty. Overall, we had a great experience.
If I were to rate the biryani from a well-known restaurant in Kolkata a 10 out of 10, I’d give the biryani at Adda Hut an 8.5 out of 10, which is impressive for a place so far from Kolkata. We also tried their Luchi, Kashmiri Alur Dom, Kolkata-style fish fry, and Mishti Doi. Overall, we had a really great time, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who shares our taste in food.
Parking: A pay-and-display parking place is very close to that restaurant! Just perfect.

Authentic bengali food, loved their veggie selection (especially chilli paneer and kathi rolls) and mouth watering traditional desserts.

We tried their fish fry at London durga puja and it was awesome. We wanted to try their other dishes at the restaurant, finally we visited yesterday. Menu had lot of choices, we ordered fish & chicken thalis and some extra fish fries. Each thali had good portions and was enough for one person. Taste was good. Though we went for fish fry, but we loved their misti dahi 😀
One thing could be better- there wasn’t any curry in fish thali that can go with Traditional bengali luchi (Puri).
Parking is easily available in the evening which is very close to it. Not too many seating, however we got seats easily in the evening. Overall it was good experience.
Vegetarian options: Veg thali
Parking: In front of LIDL super market

I have known of this restaurant for a while, but do not live near by. Finally I decided to pay a visit. I loved their food and service. The front desk lady is super efficient. The menu is delectable and have many of my favorites. I loved the Thali concept as it provided many of my favorites in small portions, more than enough in quantity for a person's meal. All the dishes tasted great and I ended up having takeaways as well. One of the owners was there and came to greet which is a wonderful gesture. I hope this restaurant flourishes as there are not many authentic Bengali restaurants around. Looking forward to my next visit.
Vegetarian options: Bengali cuisine have many vegetarian options, and this restaurant does a great job in having many of those options.
Parking: There is a huge paid parking lot in a minute's walk from the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: I have seen families with kids enjoying the meals.

Visited Adda Hut for lunch. The ambience is homely and service is brilliant. Coming to the food, I'm falling short of words. It was F.A.N.T.A.S.T.IC! Had the mutton meal and every thing was perfect, took me back to Kolkata. Tried some fish fry as well and it was GREAT too! We took some stuff back, would be relishing them all week now. Definitely a great go to place for all! THANK YOU! Special thanks to the girl waiting today as she drew nice smileys on our takeaway packs, a cute gesture!

A good authentic Bengali restaurant located 3 to 4 km is away from Reading Station.
The restaurant space is quite good. It can accommodate 20 to 25 people.
The quality years of the food is very good. We tried chicken Thali and fish Thali and both was up to the mark. It’s quite authentic- vegetarian Dal is a must try.

Only dish that I liked was Topse fry. Luchis were a bit too hard for my liking and they don’t know how to cook Kosha mangsho or tawa. They served horrible box standard Bangladeshi curry instead! Prices were cheap

Food tastes just like it’s in Kolkata, we tried many items right from biriyani, radhaballavi, dhokar dalna, mutton rezala, misti doi, Bhetki paturi etc. All the items were lip smacking and cooked to perfection. It’s so nice to have authentic Bengali / Kolkata food in the UK, we shall return again.
